18 August 2023 – moveID, a Bosch-led project within the Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility project family, will present its live demo at IAA MOBILITY 2023. At the event, moveID will give a first insight into its vision of a decentralised ecosystem for mobility services via the MOBIX app for peer-to-peer parking and charging. The demonstration with electric vehicles from Tesla and Jaguar will showcase novel mobility services and business opportunities that arise from the use of decentralised technologies. It will give visitors the opportunity to experience moveID’s vision of a vendor-neutral, open ecosystem of data-driven mobility services with integrated payment options. The live demo will show how autonomous transactions between networked devices streamline expenses and open up new revenue streams.
As our mobility infrastructure, power grids and other building blocks make our cities smarter, trustworthy stakeholder identification is a key challenge on the road to unlocking the full business potential of connected vehicles – especially in Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communications. The digital mobility infrastructure being built by the moveID project partners uses Self-Sovereign Identities (SSIs) and enables autonomous transactions between vehicles and connected infrastructure. SSIs efficiently use blockchain technology as a vendor-neutral digital backbone, enabling connected vehicles, transport infrastructures and service providers to conduct transactions and create value for people and each other.
At IAA MOBILITY 2023 in Munich, moveID will demonstrate the business and impact potential of SSIs issued to vehicles and service providers that create real value. During the live demonstration, visitors will experience first-hand how to find, reserve and use a parking space and charging station for electric vehicles offered in a peer-to-peer process, e.g. by companies granting access to their parking spaces. Behind the scenes, decentralised tools enable a convenient experience with full privacy.
51nodes, a Web3-enabling company, implements the complete workflows involving self-sovereign identities and verifiable credentials and their exchange between vehicles and service providers. SSI workflows will enable the use of verifiable driver credentials for booking parking spaces during the live demo.
“In developing this prototype, we are using existing SSI technologies to demonstrate their technical feasibility, better assess their capabilities and identify areas for improvement. Furthermore, the cooperation with the various partners in moveID is a very exciting task for us,” says Jochen Kaßberger, managing director and co-founder of 51nodes.
The moveID project invites all players in the electric vehicle charging ecosystem to participate and make their individual charging solution part of the overall charging network.
“The live demo at IAA MOBILITY will demonstrate the vision behind Gaia-X 4 moveID in the most tangible and clear way – by letting users experience the future we are aiming for. We are thrilled to bring this live demo to Munich and look forward to presenting it to business and political decision-makers from around the world,” says Peter Busch, Bosch project manager.
The Gaia-X 4 moveID project was launched in July 2022 and is financially supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection for a period of three years.
