Since 2021, 51nodes has been supporting the European research unit for mobility concepts Honda R&D Europe (Deutschland) GmbH in using electric vehicles as rolling energy storage units to distribute surplus energy.
In this context, 51nodes is involved in the analysis, design and implementation of blockchain-based identities, contracting approaches and service billing. In addition, standardization topics and further use cases on energy and mobility, decentralized identities and tokenization approaches will be investigated. In the meantime, an initial proof of concept application of the platform has been jointly developed.
Christian Köbel, Senior Project Engineer at Honda R&D Europe (Deutschland) GmbH, comments: “Honda is looking at blockchain approaches for use cases in the area of sustainability and electromobility. We see the cooperation as a great enrichment and hope to jointly set promising technological trends with our work in the mobility sector.”
Jochen Kaßberger, Managing Director of 51nodes, comments: “We are very pleased about the good cooperation with Honda R&D Europe, where we can continuously expand our knowledge at the interface of the energy sector and mobility.”
The cooperation takes place within the project ROLLEN, which is funded by the BMWi.
