On the weekend of Oct. 23-25, the Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon was held as part of the “2020 Shanghai International Blockchain Week.” Due to the Corona situation, participation was possible both on-site and online. 51nodes participated in the hackathon in the person of Jan Paul Buchwald as a member of the “MOVE X” hackathon team along with staff from BMBS (Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales, the Mercedes sales organization in China), Soda Mobility Platform and others.

Developed and presented was the connection and integration of a real telematics box in a real vehicle via a telematics gateway to the existing infrastructure of the Mobility Blockchain Platform, which was provided by the Daimler Mobility Blockchain Factory. With the solution, a car sharing rental process via a mobile app including recording of relevant data from the vehicle as well as opening and closing of the vehicle with safeguarding and traceability of the data via smart contracts could be successfully implemented and demonstrated.
