On July 31, 2025, we participated in a discussion on “DePIN Developments in Germany & International Collaboration” with Jochen Kaßberger as a speaker. The webinar was organized by Bundesblock, the German blockchain association.
Moderated by Sebastian Becker, managing director of Bundesblock, the discussion focused on the prospects for DePIN in Germany and Europe. DePIN, short for Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks, is a concept that organizes and operates physical infrastructure in a decentralized manner via blockchain-based networks.
The discussion focused on the following three topics:
- Devices, decentralized infrastructure, and connectivity – and how collaboration moves us forward
- Use cases for mobility and data infrastructure
- Tokenization, data markets, and business models
Decentralized mobile networks from World Mobile, Steax’s decentralized network infrastructure, which securely connects machines and devices while ensuring trustworthy, verifiable data, and concrete examples of the DePIN framework in use at companies such as Alstom and IABG show how versatile and practical DePIN is currently developing.
51nodes has already successfully implemented DePIN projects in industrial environments with the majority of the panel participants.
